Automobiles in German Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers stated they were notified by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Approximately fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then located many other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials state preliminary tests show the fluid was most likely human blood.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for information.

An important official commented the attack left him stunned and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
